Our coaches and staff are dedicated to helping our players develop as successful young ladies. We are not just interested in our athletes developing volleyball skills, but developing productive individuals in all areas of life through the sport of volleyball.

Coach Corry

Coach

 

Coach Corry is a native of New Orleans, by way of Trinidad and Tobago. He started playing volleyball at the age of 7. He was an All-Marine/All- American Volleyball Player for the United States Marine Corps. He trained and competed in Okinawa, Japan, Guam, Hawaii, Bulgaria and Germany. Through volleyball, he received a full scholarship at George Mason University. In 1993, he was the Associate Assistant Coach at North Carolina A&T University. In 1999 he was inducted into the U.S. Armed Forces Hall of Fame for Volleyball.

Coach Queen

Coach Queen began her coaching career with Cobra Volleyball Club in New Orleans, La in 2000. After the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, in 2006, she helped re-establish and became co-owner of Cobra Volleyball Club in Baton Rouge  LA. Because she loves to mentor young teens, she started her own volleyball club in 2014 located in Stafford, TX, called Q-Cobra VB Club. Her club is dedicated to helping young girls find a passion in volleyball and develop skills that can get them scholarships in volleyball.

Coach Rachel

Rachel Wheaton is a native of Beaumont, TX and a graduate of Alief Taylor High School. She started her volleyball career in the 8th grade & continued throughout high school where she played setter and DS/Libero. Rachel was awarded an academic & volleyball scholarship to Southwestern College.

Shelby Stewart is a recent college graduate and has over 10 years of volleyball experience. She is a 3 time All-American, the 2018 GCAC Player of the Year, Hitter of the Year, First-Team All-Conference and All-Region player.

Coach 4

Assistant Coach/Photographer

 

Coach "4" joined QCobra during the 2019-2020 season. He also worked with Coach Queen at Cobra VBC. His areas are physical and mental fitness as well as and team building. He also has a strong passion for helping players develop a solid understanding of "why" a skill is necessary.

Coach Ari

Coach Ari is a former all-around- athlete who has been with Q-Cobra for 3 years. She also worked with Cobra VBC in Baton Rouge Louisiana. Skillset: player skill development and court coverage and serving.

Coach Rita

Coach/Media Specialist

 

Coach Rita started a girls sports program at Bunny Friend Playground in New Orleans so girls would have adult supervision while their parents were still at school or work. She went on to coach volleyball and softball at, LB Landry, John McDonogh, RL Turner, Ozen, and Lumberton H.S. Club coaching experience includes: Texas Assault 14u (Dallas), Tri-City Heat 12u (Beaumont). She joined Q-Cobra to continue helping young athletes realize their full potential as they learn valuable life skills.

Coach Randi

Coach/Statistician

 

Coach Randi is a former college and club volleyball player. She played setter and defensive specialist for Alcorn State University (MS) and Cajunland VBC (NOLA). She is a passionate coach who will work with our athletes on setting, defense, serving, and court coverage.
